What do you like about blogging?
-Blogging helps me to reflect the learning process. I had recorded what I had learnt through the weeks in the blog. It helps me to see my strengths and weaknesses and what I have to focus more.

What you do not like about blogging?
-It takes time for me to reflect back on what I want to pun in the blog. Plus, there are another works to do as well at the same time.

What have you gained from blogging e.g. Language skills, improved fluency, critical thinking, improved thought processes, technology skills etc. How?
-It improves my writing skill together with the critical thinking. This is where the ideas to write come. Technology skills also gained as I able to use the blogspot.com well because I was not into blogging before.

-I have the opportunity to learn many skills in order to enhance my technological skills.

-I really feel that we need to be guide or taught on operating new software as we don’t know how to use it

-Audio editing because earlier I thought that it is only for composer.

What do you like about this module?
-It really helpful in improvising my internet and computing skills.

-There are too many things that we have to do. Plus, it was quite bored to do the things that I have familiar with and it mostly the basic skills.

-It enhance my knowledge so that I will be able to apply it in daily life.

-The skills of using the internet as it makes me easier to search something through the internet.

-The skill of enhancing picture quality and making pictures become more interesting and meaningful. As I enjoy editing pictures, I am really into this module.

-I will be able to edit pictures to suit the lesson in classroom. For example, I will be able to create flashcards and picture cards using the edited pictures.

-It provides knowledge in sound editing to me as I was zero in this aspect before this.

What do you not like about this module?
-It is time consuming as we need to sit and give full of attention in the tasks.

-I have basic knowledge on sound editing make me feels like I am a sound engineer.

-The task is quite difficult and it makes me have difficulty in doing the task.

-too much task is kind of burdensome to the students. It is ok if the task to be focuses because those tasks are kind of repeating in individual task, pair work and group work.

Week 14 is our final week for this semester. There are so many ups and downs that I have faced through those fourteen weeks. I am really happy and will keep all those memories in my mind.

Even that, there still some works that we have to do especially for Module 4. As module 4 is about video editing, we are playing with most all the video editing software.

The tasks that are going to be submitted is task 1 which is a pair work on video editing, task 2 which is an individual task on extracting audio and pictures from video and also lesson plan, task 3 which is group work of making lesson plans and the Module 4 itself.

There are many things that I had learnt through this subject. I never know before that there are so many information and knowledge that lies within the technology. As I can say is technology is something wonderful and interesting to be explored.

This is week we have to submit Module 2 which is the e-book and lesson planning. Without realization, this week is already the 13^th week of the semester and next week is the final week for us for this subject.

I am really happy and enjoy learning this subject so much as there are so many new knowledge that I have gained along the semester.

For the video editing, it is something new to me. I only have experience in editing video in handphone which the software is only basic software to edit video. Now I realize that, video editing has wider scope and it is fun.

There are many software that have been introduced such as

A part from editing video, I had learnt how to extract audio and pictures from the video. What an interesting knowledge that I have here.

We were showed some example of e-books by Pn.Foziah. so that, we get a clearer view on what we have to do in order to make the e-book. The e-book must be interesting, meaningful in it way and must able to promote learning in interesting way.

The e-book must :

>have theme

>setting of place and time

>plot

>characterization

>navigational tools to ensure that e-book working well.

>Pictures must be clear and colorful.

>sound to accompany reading

Pn. Foziah check our E-book and she gave some comments to our works. Her comments are really useful in order to improvise our e-book.

Then she also introduced to us on video editing that had been done by her previous students. She told us to think on the theme and storyboard on the video editing task that we have to do.

This is the week where Pn Foziah shared some knowledge with us regarding to photo editing. It is fun to gain some new knowledge on photo editing because I love to edit pictures so much.

This week, Mdm. Foziah taught us new skill in using the technology. So, im really eager to learn this skill...

Mdm. Foziah showed us example of photos that had been edited. All the photos were so great and im really amazed to see them.There are so many that can be done to make the photo more attractive and beautiful. We can adjust the color and tone, crop something that we dont want in the photo, we can remove red-eye, resize the photo and the list go on. Interesting isn't it???? After that, Mdm. Foziah asked us to edit any photo using the adobe photoshop I know that there are still many things that I need to explore and learn in order to master this skill.

PHOTO EDITING

Photo editing can be describe as a process of altering or modifying images, whether the images are digital photograph, traditional analog photograph or illustrations. Traditional analog image editing also known as photo retouching. It usually using tools such as air brush or any traditional art medium to edit the illustrations.

Pn. Foziah shared with us on her collections of pictures regarding to photo editing which is for task 1. There are some aspects that we have to take into consideration in editing any photo. The aspects are :

This is the week that we have to complete all the task 1,2 and 3 in Module 3. It was quite difficult to finish it up but I am very thankful because I made it!

The tasks need us to cut a chorus part of any song and remix it. The song must runs smoothly without any intermission. It was quite difficult because it needs a great focus. Then, we have to edit the song entitled “Dua Insan” by Siti Nurhaliza and M.Nasir. Then, the lecturer checked our products one by one and gave personal comments to everyone.

At the end, we have to submit the LESSON PLANNING, TEACHING AIDS COLLECTION and Module 3. Fuhhh…

Now we are back from the Aidilfitri break.

This week, we were informed that our lecturer will be not around. Yet, we have to attend to the class. Urgh… This is because, Module 2 on the way!! Hahaha… This time, the module is all about PHOTO EDITING.

In this module, I realized that Adobe Photoshop CS3 is the main software that we have to use in this module. Instead of Adobe Photoshop CS3, there are some other software that introduced to us in this module such as :

Throughout the module, I will be able to learn many new skills that related to the photo editing such as

Sharpening and softening images

Adding special effects

Perspective control and distortion

Enhancing images

Etc.

More, the tasks that we suppose to submit right after Aidilfitri break also been postpone. What a pleasure.. quite a relieve as so many works that I have to do.

This is the week that we have to submit our first assignment which is module 1. Even it was quite challenging in order to finish it up, thank to God because finally I was able to make it done.

Then, we were given the next module which is module 3. This time, the module is not really thick like the first module that I have done.

The module 3 is all about audio editing. Audacity become the main software for us in order to do the module. By using this software, I have to cut the song, adjusting the pitch and so many other skills regarding to sound editing.

Apart from that, there are two other tasks that we have to do which is TEACHING AIDS COLLECTION and LESSON PLANNING.

The due for this task is the week after Aidilfitri break.

"Teaching English in the Primary Classroom"

For this week, we had been given task based on our text book “Teaching English in the Primary Classroom” by Susan Halliwell. We have to present on the topic in the chapter 1. There are six subtopics in chapter 1, so that we have to divide ourselves into six small groups.

The 6 subtopics in chapter 1 as listed below:

Children's ability to grasp meaning:

Well-illustrated teaching aids are very useful for the teacher in order to teach concrete vocabularies. It is because children are able to connect of what they had learned with what they saw in order to grasp the meaning.

Children's creative use of limited language resources:

Children were born without language and they learned from the environment during the growth process. For young learners, their vocabularies are limited. So, they have to be creative enough to use the language that they have in order to communicate.

Children's capacity for indirect learning:

There are 2 ways of learning which is direct and indirect learning. Children always learn indirectly from the experiences and the environment. Here, they will gain their knowledge and skills.

Children's instinct for play and fun:

Children and playing and having fun cannot be separated. It is crucial for the teacher to manipulate the aspects in the learning process so that they are able to enjoy the lesson.

The role of imagination:

Imagination able to create a child that can think creatively and being critical in solving problems.

The instinct for interaction and play:

Children always want to interact and play. Hence, their instinct can be used in educated way to engage learning in them.

The topic for my group is “Children’s creative use of limited language resources’. We had prepared a powerpoint presentation and on the topic given plus some additional information from the internet. From the reading, I found that children are so creative in manipulating the language to suit the concept or in simple words, the ability to express meaning.

This is my second week attending this class...
this time I was introduced on the fast typing skill. Now i know that there are many applications and software that can help us in order to get the fast typing skill.

Besides, we were asked by Madam Foziah to edit our blog. As this is my first time for me in blogging, I found that it is really hard for me to manage the blog.

Other than that, I had to answer questionnaires that related to this course. This questionnaires mostly asking about my experiences on handling and using applications in editing pictures, videos and music. It also asked on the skills that I have in using those applications and software.

This is my week in this university. As "freshie" here, eventhough this is my third year doing degree under this university "technically", it takes time for me in order to suit myself with the new environment.

As this is the first time i entered the lecture for this course, i was really nervous. Earlier, i did not understand why should us, the cohort 5 students are required to have this PBEY3102 as one of our major courses.

Then, I found that this course is an ,interesting course and really useful for me in the future as I am going to be a teacher soon. After brief explanation by Madam Foziah, I found that this course is really helpful in order to develop my ability in preparing materials for the teaching and learning in the classroom. Madam Foziah is the one who is responsible to lead us in finishing this course. She had given us a warm welcome and I hope that I will give full commitment and responsibility in finishing this course.
